Stuff About Me That You Probably Don’t Care About

What is in the back of your car? A pillow (for sleep-driving, or drive-sleeping), Target bag with 2 little girl outfits, 2 lockboxes, a couple of magazines.
Name one person that made you smile today? Honey went for a Harley ride, and when he got home, he yelled “DADDY’S HOME!” Awesome.
What were you doing at 8 am this morning? Watering my outside plants, and filling the birdbath (over 100F today).
What were you doing 45 minutes ago? Drinking latte, surfing the ‘net, what else?
What is your favorite candy bar? Mmmm, Twix….no, Reese’s Cups, the little ones (not really a bar, but what-ev), maybe Snickers.  I like candy.

Do you like cats? I love them but I’m significantly allergic.
Have you ever been to Six Flags? Yes, many years ago.
How did you get your worst scar? Surgery, I had a lipoma removed from my back.  Not as scary as it sounds.

The Heat is On!

It’s hotter than a mofo here today, well over 100F. They actually said on the news that some places got up to 116F. That’s effen hot. I still had a really great day though. I woke up VERY early, around 6:15, and just lounged around in bed till about 7. I had a delicious latte late last night, I usually don’t sleep much when I have caffeine after, like, 3pm. Honey was still sleeping, so I went to Sonic for a grape slush. EXCEPT, the Sonic close to my house DID NOT HAVE SLUSHES. The machine was broken! Broken! I thought I might die if I didn’t get a slush immediately (we went out for drinks last night, and I was VERY thirsty today, if you know what I mean). Anyhoo, I ended up going to the Sonic about 2 miles away, where all slush machines were in working order, so crisis averted. Yay, Slush!

While I enjoyed my delicious slush, I drove around town and listened to some great music that I had not listened to in a while, stopped at a yard sale (did not buy anything), and stopped at Michael’s Crafts. I bought some fancy-schmancy card stock because I’m going to attempt to make a collage. I say attempt only because I have never done a collage before, but it doesn’t seem like anything I could really mess up. I guess we’ll see.

Favorite Lines from Indigo Girls Songs

“I ran as hard as I could, I still ended up here, and it’s alright.” No matter how much I think I’m struggling sometimes, this line makes me think all the work and living I have done up until this point was all for this moment.  And it was all worth it.

“For everything I learn, there are 2 I don’t understand.” The older I get, and the more I learn, the more I realize that I don’t know that much after all.

“What makes me think I could start clean slated?  The hardest to learn was the least complicated.” This is for the moments that I look back on and say “DUH!”  I was really stupid naive when I was younger.  I’ll probably always look back and say that, even about things I’m doing now.

“I never felt so glad to be so well spent, so beyond repair.” Hurts so good.

“You can stand there and agonize, til your agony’s your heaviest load.” Lord knows I’ve been there.  Sometimes I get so worked up about things that I either have no control over, or that are not my responsibility to worry about. My brain is almost full as it is.

Fried Brain

My brain turns off at 5 pm. I commute 40 miles each way to work, and my job is very busy and somewhat stressful. So, by 5 or so, I can only think of dancing bunnies and dinner. Sometimes I don’t even remember my commute. Every once in a while I make it to the gym after work, and end up getting home around 7. I don’t have kids, so I guess I have it better easier than some. My brain still hurts, though.

I promise to try to think of more interesting things to say, but for now, here are some photos.

I went to a wedding this weekend. The Husband’s niece got married. Everything was very nice…I truly can’t stop thinking about the cake. Literally. It was sooooooooo good, and really, how often do you get wedding cake? I also had lots of drinks at the wedding, and before the wedding.
