I gotta say….

I think today is going to be a good day. First Saturday in a while that I’m home, with no obligations. I’m moving in a couple of weeks, so I plan on getting some packing done after coffee time. I got started last night, and it’s not too bad once you get the ball rolling. I usually get hung up reminiscing, looking at pictures, reading old cards. Kind of fun, kind of sad.

The last year has been tough. I left my husband almost a year ago. I had some stuff I needed to figure out, and he didn’t have a role in that “stuff”. Sounds harsh, and I know a lot of people think that’s not what marriage is, but I have my own reasons that I’m sure will come out here later. Even though I made the decision to leave, that doesn’t mean I’m not sad and don’t have doubts. I have doubts every day. I miss him. I also have a new life that is shaping up nicely. A life that he could not be a part of (more on that later too).

Packing, going though photo albums and birthday cards, getting rid of stuff has been hard and sad in some cases, and liberating in others. I’m always trying to find the liberation in the things I never would have been able to do in my old life. It’s not always there, but I guess it is what you make it.

So the last month has been a whirlwind of activity. Traveling, out of town guests, and busy busy busy at work. This is the first Saturday in about 2 months that I have to myself. Going out later with The Girls, and looking forward to some Adult Time and Beverages.

What a difference a year makes. I started this blog 18 months ago, when things in my life were very different. In the past 12 months I have separated from my husband, moved, divorced and I’m moving again next month. I’ve been happy, sad, depressed, elated, high, low, lost, found and lost again.
